Sekoia is now ENS Alta certified: What it means for security in Spain

Sekoia Obtains ENS Alta Certification for the Spanish Market.

Key takeaways

Sekoia is now certified under the Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS) at the Alta category, the highest level of Spain's National Security Framework.

  • Sekoia has obtained the Spanish Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS) certification at the Alta level: the highest security category required for sensitive public sector ICT suppliers.
  • Certified by accredited auditor Applus+ for a 2-year validity period, Sekoia scored High across all 5 evaluated dimensions (confidentiality, integrity, traceability, authenticity, and availability), fulfilling 68 measures.
  • The certification covers Sekoia's Information Security Management System (ISMS) as well as the hosting, operation, and maintenance of the Sekoia SOC platform within the FRA1 region.
  • This certification validates European digital sovereignty requirements, enabling Spanish public entities and partners to deploy Sekoia's unified SIEM, SOAR, and threat intelligence platform with full compliance.

Sekoia has obtained certification under Spain’s Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS) at the Alta category. It is a milestone for our work with the Spanish public sector and with the partners who protect it.

What the ENS is

The Esquema Nacional de Seguridad is Spain's National Security Framework, set out in Royal Decree 311/2022. It defines how information systems are secured across the Spanish public sector, and it applies to suppliers too. If you provide information and communications technology (ICT) services to a Spanish public entity, you are expected to be certified at the level that matches the sensitivity of what you handle.

Why the Alta category matters

The framework has three categories: Básica, Media and Alta. Alta is the highest. It is required where a security incident would cause very serious harm to the organization or to the people it serves. The audit is performed by an accredited auditor against a large set of strict controls. Five dimensions are covered: confidentiality, integrity, traceability, authenticity and availability.

Our certification was delivered by LGAI Technological Center (Applus+), a laboratory accredited by the Spanish authorities. Each of the five dimensions was assessed at the High level, and the certificate is valid for two years. It covers Sekoia's information security management system together with the hosting, maintenance and operation of the Sekoia SOC platform in the FRA1 region. Other Sekoia regions may be added over time as needs evolve.

What it changes for public sector organizations and partners

Spanish public sector bodies work under sovereignty and compliance requirements that keep rising. Boards ask where data is hosted and who operates the technology behind it. ENS Alta answers that question at the highest level of the national framework, and it lets our partners bring Sekoia to the public clients they already serve.

The platform itself does not change. Sekoia remains a European, sovereign autonomous platform that brings SIEM, SOAR and native threat intelligence together, with AI on the triage so analysts stay on what matters. Deployment stays on your terms: SaaS, on-premise, air gapped or SecNumCloud.
